Republic of Bashkortostan is selling controlling stake in Bashspirtprom
Plant has production capacity of 800,000 liters of alcohol per year
Bashkortostan has announced plans to sell a controlling stake in Bashspirtprom, the region's largest alcoholic beverage producer.
The sale is part of the republic's efforts to privatize state-owned assets and raise revenue. Bashspirtprom is one of the largest taxpayers in Bashkortostan, contributing 1.5 billion rubles ($21 million) to the regional budget in 2022.
The plant has a production capacity of 800,000 liters of alcohol per year and produces a wide range of alcoholic beverages, including vodka, brandy, and liqueurs.
The starting price for the 57.3% stake in Bashspirtprom has been set at 3.5 billion rubles ($48 million).
The deadline for submitting bids is April 14, 2023.
